School Building Investment

There has been a school on the site of Weston Secondary School since the 1950s. Over the years the buildings have been updated. But there’s no getting away from the fact it needs major attention to bring its facilities up to the standard of other Southampton schools.

The good news is that in 2022-23 £5.5 million is being invested in building works and learning infrastructure at our school.

This includes:

  • A new four-court sports hall and changing rooms
  • Improvements to our IT infrastructure
  • The majority of classrooms will be updated and redecorated
  • Two new science classrooms and a new library
  • The school entrance will be re-modelled
  • Bleacher seating will be added to the school hall
  • Updated changing rooms and improvements to school gym
  • Repairs to the school roof, facades and windows
  • A new lift
  • Enhancements to the school signage and landscaping at the entrance.

This work is due to be completed by April 2023, significantly enhancing the facilities and learning environment at Weston Secondary School.
