Deciding on the right school for your child
Applying for your child’s place at secondary school can be a tricky decision, particularly given the variety of choice locally. You will, without doubt, want to have explored as many options as possible prior to making your first, second and third choices by the deadline of 31 October.
We would encourage you to visit all the schools you are interested in, alongside those that you may not have considered. Visit the schools during their open evenings – see ours below or request to look around during the school day.
You are welcome to visit Weston Secondary School at a time to suit you. Please contact reception and book in a time to meet the headteacher and tour the school.
We also encourage you to read our Ofsted Report, and speak to staff and students during your visit.
Open events
Open events at Weston Secondary School are your opportunity to visit us in person and truly understand what we have to offer young people in Southampton.
We know that being able to walk around a school and speak to staff and students is a completely different experience from reading about it online.
This is particularly important when you are considering which secondary school to choose for your child. Picking a learning environment where they feel at home will enhance their experience and ensure they achieve more.
Open events also allow you to ask our team questions as they come to mind. If our Academy is on your shortlist of Southampton secondary schools we encourage you to visit us either during an open event or at another pre-arranged time convenient to you.
