Our Gateway Provision is a nurturing and structured support pathway designed to meet the diverse social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs of pupils, empowering them to thrive within our mainstream school environment. We understand that each young person’s journey is unique, and our provision offers a tailored approach that bridges the gap between specialist intervention and successful reintegration into the wider school community.

At the heart of Gateway is a strong focus on equipping pupils with the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to succeed academically and socially. We work in close collaboration with the core subject departments to ensure that essential curriculum concepts in English, Maths, and PSHE are embedded into pupils’ daily experiences—both in and beyond the classroom.

Our curriculum is holistic and responsive, with a broad offer that includes:

  • Core academic support in English and maths to maintain progress and close gaps
  • Emotional regulation strategies and therapeutic interventions to build self-awareness and coping mechanisms
  • Life skills and PSHE education, preparing pupils for real-world challenges and personal development
  • Careers guidance and preparation, helping pupils to set goals and explore their futures
  • A wide range of enrichment activities, such as creative arts, physical education, and team-building experiences, to foster engagement, social development, and self-esteem

Staffed by a committed team of experienced professionals, Gateway is a safe and inclusive environment where strong relationships and high expectations go hand in hand. We prioritise early intervention, positive behaviour support, and consistent routines, helping pupils to rebuild their confidence and rediscover a love of learning. Ultimately, our goal is to enable every pupil to transition back into the mainstream setting with the tools they need to flourish, not just academically, but socially and emotionally too.
