We believe that participation in extracurricular activities is key to a well-rounded education. It fosters teamwork, resilience, commitment, strong relationships and a willingness to engage beyond that which is mandatory. This is enormously enriching for students.
Our extra curricular clubs and activities
Weston Secondary School’s extracurricular clubs are provided by staff at break, lunch and after school.
We offer extracurricular clubs in:
- Robot club
- Science in technology
Study support and homework club
In addition to these clubs, the library is open from 8am to 8.25am for reading and study support. Homework club is held here from 3pm daily.
We also operate a quiet zone outside the library and in Victory where students can go to read, play games or socialise quietly.
More enrichment and extra curricular activities
Key Stage 4 enrichment happens at 3pm daily and Y11 students are expected to attend.
Students that need additional support with socialisation skills will be supported through our SEND provision.
We also run regular band nights, winter and summer shows, sporting fixtures and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. All students are encouraged to take part in something.
